A hands-on, immersive program exploring world cuisines, practical cooking skills, and independence in a safe, supportive environment.
A hands-on, immersive program exploring world cuisines, practical cooking skills, and independence in a safe, supportive environment.
Global Kitchen™ is a 12-week, NDIS-aligned program run by an experienced cook at our North Brisbane location in Kallangur. Participants learn kitchen safety, appliance use, food hygiene and everyday life skills, while building real connection with their peers.
Every participant makes their own food at their own workstation, with support right beside them when they need it. Nobody just watches.
We eat together as a group, clean up together, and there's plenty of food to take home too!
It's a cooking class, but participants are building daily living skills and social skills the whole way through.

Each participant cooks their own dish from start to finish, learning real skills they can use at home.

We sit down and eat as a group. Good food, good conversation and real connection.

Washing up, wiping down and packing away together. Everyday living skills, practised every week.

There's always plenty of take-home food, so the family gets to taste what was made.
The NDIS does not cover food. So we cover it ourselves. Every ingredient is paid for directly by Marching Forward, which means there are no out-of-pocket food expenses for participants or their families.
Global Kitchen™ isn't always in the same four walls. We also do outdoor cooking, and we switch locations occasionally to keep things fresh and fun.
Cooking in a new setting builds confidence and flexibility, and it's a great excuse to get out in the fresh air together.

Each session includes set-up, cooking and sharing time.
A Success Plan aligned with NDIS goals, covering independence, confidence and social participation.
Practical life skills, planning, sequencing, problem-solving, kitchen and appliance safety, and social interaction.
