Global Kitchen™ is a 12-week, NDIS-aligned program delivered by an experienced cook and designed to give participants the skills, confidence, and independence to prepare meals safely, creatively, and confidently. Through cooking dishes from around the world, participants learn kitchen safety, appliance use, food hygiene, and practical life skills, all while having fun and building meaningful peer connections.

Each participant works at their own workstation, learning step-by-step techniques in a structured, supportive environment. Sessions conclude with a shared meal where participants enjoy and reflect on their creations.

The 12-Week Program Includes:

Global Kitchen™ has been intentionally designed to build independence and confidence through hands-on cooking and real-world life skills.

  • Small group support:

    Participants are supported in small groups with a high facilitator-to-participant ratio (1:2) to ensure personalised guidance, safety, and skill development.

  • Hands-on, structured learning:

    Each session includes set-up, cooking, and sharing time, allowing participants to practise essential life skills while learning about diverse cuisines.

  • Goal-oriented and personalised:

    Participants complete a Success Plan aligned with their NDIS goals, guiding development in independence, confidence, and social participation.

  • Capacity-building focus:

    Supports outcomes in practical life skills, planning, sequencing, problem-solving, kitchen and appliance safety, and social interaction.

NDIS Alignment & Professional Integrity

Global Kitchen™ is an NDIS-specific program and can be funded through Core Supports or Capacity Building supports depending on your plan and goals.

The program is delivered in alignment with NDIS Practice Standards and guided by strengths-based, neuro-affirming, and life-skill-focused practices.

Prior to commencing, participants complete a comprehensive onboarding process to:

• Understand their strengths, interests, and support needs

• Align program strategies with their NDIS goals

• Develop a personalised plan to guide their learning journey

Suitability is based on individual goals, readiness, and support needs rather than age alone. Each participant completes an onboarding process to ensure Global Kitchen™ aligns with their NDIS goals and learning style.

Where is the program located?

Global Kitchen™ is currently delivered in Dayboro.

Some sessions and experiences may take place within the local community as part of our supported community participation focus.

Transport support can be arranged on an individual basis where required and aligned with your NDIS goals.

We’re also in the process of rolling Global Kitchen™ out to additional locations — if your area isn’t listed yet, we encourage you to register your interest so we can keep you updated as new locations open.
