Approach to NDIS Goals

How we approach goals, our point of difference

Goals aren’t just milestones to reach — they’re moments of growth, confidence, and connection along the way.”

When it comes to NDIS goals, it’s easy to focus on the paperwork, the plans, the progress notes, the boxes that need to be ticked. But at Marching Forward, we see goals as something much deeper. They’re about building the skills and confidence people need to live fuller, more independent, and connected lives.

The NDIS is designed to support participants to increase their social and community participation, independence, daily living skills, and capacity for future education, employment, and financial stability. We fully align with these aims, but we approach them in a way that feels human, achievable, and empowering.

Rather than setting goalsforparticipants, we set themwiththem. We listen to what matters most: what they enjoy, what feels challenging, and what success looks like in their world. From there, we create experiences that gently stretch comfort zones and build real world skills, whether that’s planning a group outing, budgeting for lunch, communicating with peers, or building routines and responsibility.

Growth can be quiet and subtle, a small moment of courage, a spark of laughter, or a new way of expressing feelings through art. These moments may look small, but over time they build the foundation for bigger goals: confidence, communication, and the practical skills needed for daily living and future independence.

Our sessions are designed to make these moments possible. Whether through creative therapy, social outings, or hands-on experiences, we focus on building trust and confidence first, because real progress happens when people feel safe, supported, and seen. From there, we gently support participants to develop skills that align with their NDIS goals, things like decision-making, community involvement, teamwork, and preparation for future education or employment.

What makes us different is how we combine heart, creativity, and structure. We’re guided by evidence-based frameworks and NDIS standards, but we never lose sight of the person behind the plan. Every activity, conversation, and reflection is connected back to meaningful life outcomes, in ways that feel natural, achievable, and deeply human.

Because at Marching Forward, we believe that when people are supported to explore, connect, and believe in themselves, the skills for independence and future opportunities naturally follow.

We’re not just helping participants reach their NDIS goals, we’re helping them build a life they love living.
